We were told for a very long time that Prince Harry was doing something about Polo. Now the official trailer of the Polo series has dropped and the comments aren’t looking promising.
Could this be another flop for the Duke and Duchess duo?
As of this blog post, the Polo series has 947 likes vs 9,537 dislike after 105,096 views once it was posted to Youtube on Nov 21, 2024. There is also 2,496 comments on the article.
These stats is a far cry from the days of the Oprah interview, Archetypes Podcast, and even the sale of Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare. It begs the question: “Has people truly got enough of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex?” It comes as no surprise that all of the Sussexes’ top content were when they were dishing dirt on Prince Harry’s family, the British royal family.
Content which has done really well for the Sussexes were the Oprah interview called “Oprah with Meghan and Harry”, Me You Can’t See documentary, the book called “Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family” by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, Archetypes podcast by Meghan Markle, “Harry and Meghan” docuseries which came out after the Queen, Prince Harry’s grandmother and Meghan’s grandmother-in-law” had passed away, and Prince Harry’s memoir called “Spare” which also came out after Queen Elizabeth II had passed away.

On the hand, the Sussexes documentary “Lead to Live” and Prince Harry’s “Heart of Invictus” barely made any news. Meghan’s cartoon “Pearl” was shelved by Netflix, however, the media reported that Meghan was looking for another home for her cartoon content. As of this post, there have been no news on whether Pearl found a new home or if it will ever be made.
As of right now, it remains to be seen if this Polo series will fall to the side of the Sussexes’ royal content and become a major success or if it will fall to their non-royal content and air with barely anyone watching or talking about it.
The Comment Section with Reply Girl
Without further ado, let’s take a peek at the Polo trailer comment section on YouTube to get an idea of what is being said online:
I can say for certain that the comment section under the Polo series which was executive produced by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is overwhelmingly negative. There are some people who are trying to defend the Sussexes but their voices seem to be drowned out by the many posts which express their dislike for the Sussexes and what the royal couple has come to represent.
One person commented:
It’s so sad, in addition to giving Harry and Meghan Markle a $100 million dollar contract for basically NOTHING, Netflix has to do a documentary on animal abuse and try to glorify it. WTF??? There is nothing glorious or sexy about a bunch of rich, snooty, nepo men whose idea of fun is riding horses too hard. Remember when Harry Markle killed that poor pregnant horse Drizzle??? And there are other pics of Harry being too rough on those horses and making them bleed. WHY is Netflix glorifying animal abuse??? Rich people really are depraved individuals who think they can do whatever the hell they want to. I hope PETA and other animal rights groups come down hard on Ted Sarandos, Netflix, Harry and Meghan Markle. You all are terrible, selfish, greedy animal abusers. Those horses don’t deserve to be treated like that.
And another person had replied to that comment with:
Harry was cleared of any wrongdoing in both instances. Drizzle had a cardiac event and I can find no credible source that says she was pregnant. The white horse was injured in a collision. Netflix has a contract with the Sussexes and Archewell Productions. They’ve produced five docuseries for Netflix so far. The fifth is due out in February.

Where is the Sussex Squad?
One thing I have noticed in the comment section of the Polo series trailer is the absent of the Sussex Squad. The Sussex Squad, a group of extreme fans or “stans” of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has been dwindling in numbers over the years. In the early days of Megxit, the Sussex Squad would have filled up the comment section and attack anyone who said or written anything negative about Prince Harry and/or Meghan Markle. Today, in 2024, the number of people who are defending Prince Harry and Meghan in the comment section has greatly reduced.
Is this a sign that the Sussexes have lost their fan base? Maybe it is something to look into for another post.
As always,
❤️Marie
