Talk about going viral (ok, it didn’t because no one else outside of the royal watching niche is talking about this…so…semi-viral? Not viral, yet?).

I’m going to call it “The Royal Dance”. Whatever it is called, that dance is taking social media by storm as well as the tabloids and mainstream media. Some people love it and thought it was quirky and fun whereas others who hated it have called it cringe, unbecoming of royals, and called for the King to strip Prince Harry of his titles.

 

Personally I don’t care, they enjoyed themselves

In the a way, nothing the Sussexes have done is original. There have been plenty of pregnant women and their husbands or boyfriends dancing on camera while in the hospital waiting to deliver their baby.

Just because Prince Harry was born into and raised as a royal and Meghan married him doesn’t mean they are or should be immune to the social media trends that are happening. After all, Meghan Markle was a social media influencer before she married Prince Harry and has returned to being a social media influencer since she went back to Instagram.

They are no longer working royals and aren’t raising their children as royals. Therefore, they aren’t representing any country or business besides their own. So they should be allowed to do whatever it is they want to do. If people do not know by now that the Sussexes no longer represent the British royal family or are too lazy to look it up, that is their problem.

I’m neither entertained by the dance nor do I think it is something offensive or bad. All that should matter is that the Sussexes enjoyed themselves. The Sussexes are desperately trying to be relatable because their businesses rely on public consumption of their content and products being sold by Meghan through her website “As ever”.

Prince Harry does not have a university degree or the skills to be able to get a job in Tech, finance or any other sector that would allow him to earn an honest, decent income.

Meghan does not have the necessary work experience to get a high paying job in finance or other sector. They need to be able to provide for themselves and their children. Social media has been the way for them to go similar to many families around the world.

I think eventually they will land on a trend that will be supportive of what they want for their image and business that will lead to higher sales and more views on their content.

Meghan is still getting Instagram traffic

Despite all the hate she is getting for the video she has recently posted where she was dancing while pregnant and in the hospital, Meghan has gotten 1+ million likes from her 3+ million followers. It’s a pretty decent amount of likes if it’s organic and not bots.

Similarly, she has over 530.8K likes on the photo of her daughter and husband and about 541k likes on the photo of her and her daughter from 3+ million followers.

It seems as if lots of people love the video more than those who hate it. Good for Meghan and Prince Harry.
