Et tu, Family Guy?: “Fine I’ll go it alone just like Megan Markle and Prince Harry!”

What did Family Guy say?

Family Guy has done a parody of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in a new episode. This parody follows the South Park’s Worldwide Privacy Tour episode which was hard hitting and became a meme online. The Family Guy’s parody was one of those “blink and you’ll miss it”.

First, Peter Griffin says:

Fine I’ll go it alone just like Megan Markle and Prince Harry!

The next reference of the Sussexes are as follows:

Butler: “Sir, your millions from Netflix for no one knows what.”

Prince Harry character: “Put it with the rest of them.”

Meghan Markle character: “Baaabe, time to do our daily $250,000 dollars sponsored Instagram post for Del Taco.”

Prince Harry Character: “I shouldn’t have left the made up nonsense.”

For those who may not understand the “made up nonsense” part of the joke, the Prince Harry Character is stating he shouldn’t have never left the monarchy (to some Americans, the British monarchy is made up nonsense).

While there have been reports of Meghan relaunching her Instagram Influencer career, neither she nor Harry has a public Instagram account (as far as anyone knows). However, Family Guy is making fun of the Sussexes for leaving the royal family only to become social media influencers in the United States (similar to the Kardashians).

Shameless Amazon #ad plug here:

Freedom comes at a price

For many people who have left their home countries for whatever reasons be it war or famine or other issues, living in a new, safer country means starting over. For Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the “freedom flight” they took from Canada to the United States met starting over with an Oprah interview, book deals, interviews, Spotify podcast deals, and a huge Netflix deal allegedly worth $100 million dollars.

As their contracts come to an end, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might pivot to an influencer career after making so many millions in Hollywood. I doubt Prince Harry regrets leaving the “made up nonsense” that is his family and the royal family of the United Kingdom. As he has said multiple times, the United States, California has become his new home with his wife and child. The price he had to pay was his royal family, his senior role, his honorary military titles, his royal patronages, money from his father, taxpayer paid security, and other perks he had enjoyed growing up. He gave it all up for freedom in the US with his wife and kids.
